Leif Kaner-Lidström's style can be described as a cinematic odyssey of music, inspired at its roots by classical form and melody. It consists of through-composed compositions, where folk-like harmony and soulful rhythm shine through a veil of intricate virtuosity.

The colliding of all of these worlds manifests itself in the quintet form, with collaborators Kaidi Akinnibi (Tom Misch, Ezra Collective), Alex Cosmo Blake (Greentea Peng), Hugo Piper (Rex Orange County) and Jack Robson (Alfa Mist). The debut recording of this format is set to release in the new year: In Search Of Beauty will be highly anticipated by fans of the classical, jazz and cinematic genres alike.

Leif is a member of the boundary-pushing Levitation Orchestra, known for exploring new frontiers in jazz through collective composition, with their third studio album releasing later this year on 5db Records.

What strikes me about him is his quite extraordinary ear. Not only was his ear for balance incredibly responsive, but I had the unusual sensation that Kaner-Lidström was playing not just the piano, but playing the hall itself. - Nicholas Routley Australian Stage

contemplative, luminous… track’s delicate and echoing keys, reminiscent of rain, are broken through by Akers’ saxophone, which melts through to take the song to new, celebratory and almost frantic heights. - Erin Cobby Line of Best Fit
